Welcome to CelticSnooker.com
My name is Cathal Moore, and I’m delighted to welcome you to a platform dedicated to the craft, mindset, and enjoyment of the beautiful game of snooker.
Snooker has been a constant part of my life for over 40 years, played at various levels and stages. Over that time, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the technical, tactical, and mental demands of the game. While I’ve never claimed to be a professional player, my passion for snooker and my commitment to continual improvement have always driven me forward.
Under the guidance of PJ Nolan, Irish National Coach, I significantly developed my game and understanding of high-level performance. Through this structured coaching and disciplined practice, I can now confidently compile 50+ breaks when opportunities arise — a reflection not just of ability, but of improved decision-making, cue-ball control, and mindset.
For a number of years, I coached informally simply for the enjoyment of helping others improve. Recognising the impact even small adjustments can have — from grip and stance to posture, alignment, and routine — I decided to formalise my coaching journey.
I completed my SBI Introduction to Snooker & Billiards Coaching qualification on February 26, 2022, followed by my SBI Level 1 Coaching qualification in Carlow on May 25–26, 2024, widely regarded as the hub of Irish snooker development.

More recently, I was honoured to be appointed as Snooker & Billiards Ireland’s Ladies National Snooker Coach — a role I take with great pride and responsibility. Supporting the growth, confidence, and competitive development of women in Irish snooker is something I am deeply passionate about, both on and off the table.

My coaching philosophy is simple: strong fundamentals, clear thinking, and the right mindset. I firmly believe that progress doesn’t come from overcomplicating the game, but from mastering the basics and understanding how pressure, confidence, and decision-making influence performance.
Whether you are:
- New to snooker
- Returning after a break
- A club player looking to raise your break-building level, Or a competitive player seeking consistency under pressure
I’m here to help you improve your game in a practical, supportive, and structured way.
I offer coaching for individual players and small groups, and I’m passionate about helping players at all levels unlock their potential and enjoy the game more fully.
Feel free to get in touch — I look forward to working with you and being part of your snooker journey.
